Institutional Partners

The greatest challenge facing many non profit Muslim organizations is to maintain a consistent cash flow necessary to effectively operate and accomplish the goals set out by these organizations. The Partners in Justice program is an innovative approach to address this problem.

MLFA has partnered with other institutions to create a reliable and consistent source of funding. Our partners commit to a special payment structure that best suits their specific organization. In return, MLFA does what our charter dictates: Protect Muslim Institutions and Organizations against unjust (something here). We have designed three funding concepts to choose from. Here is how it works.

Justice Weekly: Our partner organization earmarks a specific amount out of their Friday collections each week for MLFA. The amount can be anywhere from $125 to $500 (or more).

Zakat for Justice: In March, 2003, MLFA received a fatwa from the ISNA Fiqh Council of North America, declaring that donations to MLFA can be legitimately allocated from the Zakat-ul-Mal. Based on that fatwa our partners have agreed to designate a fixed amount from their yearly Zakat collection. The exact amount varies by organization but our goal is to receive an average of $5000 from each of our partners.

A Friday For Justice: Partners who sign up for this program commit to dedicate the proceeds from one Juma prayer a year to MLFA. The MLFA furnishes a Khateeb (if requested) and his accompanying travel expenses are also endured by MLFA. Our Khateeb will also conduct a “Know Your Rights” seminar after Maghrib or Isha to inform the community on the issue of defending civil rights and familiarize them to the work and mission of MLMLFA

Individual Partners

The individual MLFA member partner is our greatest strength. These are dedicated individuals who have come to understand the urgency, gravity and importance of supporting MLFA’s efforts to defend the constitutional rights of Muslims.

In the next ten years, Muslims will be the most powerful positive and constructive force in America. A key factor in visualizing this goal is through the legal justice system.

An MLFA Member, is an individual who commits to support MLFA on a monthly basis. This can be set up through a monthly charge to a credit card or an automatic monthly withdrawal from the member’s account.
